First to Achieve PCI 4000 Certification
GameTime was the first playground manufacturer to achieve the PCI 4000 certification. The manufacturing processes and commitment to quality control ensure high-quality playground equipment for customers in Canada and worldwide.
About the Certification Program
The PCI 4000 Certification Program, administered by The Powder Coating Institute (PCI), is an extensive audit program that evaluates a manufacturer's coating-related business practices, process elements, equipment, maintenance practices, and quality control capabilities. Certified manufacturers show, through demonstrated audit performance measurement, they have the capabilities to correctly clean, coat, and cure products to produce quality coated parts.
To maintain PCI 4000 certification, annual audits are required. This includes an intensive on-site audit and two years of maintenance audits. GameTime prepares documentation that ensures processes and procedures are sustained to the level required for PCI 4000 certification.
Certification Demonstrates Commitment
This year a two-day, comprehensive on-site audit was held at GameTime's playground equipment manufacturing center.
“Process measurement and repeatability are key to giving customers confidence that a certified finishing operation has the processes in place to do the job well,” notes Kevin Coursin, PCI’s Executive Director. “By completing the re-certification process, [GameTime] continues to demonstrate that it understands powder coating is a high-performance painting process that must be maintained and controlled to optimize the performance of the finish,” he adds.
“Achieving PCI Certification illustrates our commitment to quality,” states Derrick Haney, Quality Manager. “To be recognized by a third party shows that we have the equipment and procedures in place that enable us to produce the quality coated products that meet our customers’ expectations."
