52 Volunteers, 48 Hours, 1 Great New Playground in Alberta

Eastview Park in Coaldale, AB has a new playground thanks to the local Kinsman Club and dedicated community volunteers. The playground is part of a larger park revitalization that includes more park benches, picnic tables, a three-hole disc golf course and new soccer nets.

The upgrade to the play area tripled the size of the playground with new equipment installed to complement an existing play structure. Jack Van Rijn, Co-chairman of the Kinsman Club of Coaldale, was impressed by the number of community volunteers who arrived to help with the installation of the playground equipment designed by Park N Play Design, GameTime’s exclusive representative in Alberta. “More than 50 people showed up to help with the install,” said Van Rijn, “it was very positive. We had so many volunteers we had to turn some away.”

Local volunteers work for two days to complete the new playground at Eastview Park

Park N Play Design supervised the build, providing the proper tools and guidance during the process and making sure the equipment was safe once put together.

“This is something that the Kinsmen like to do – and we’ve been involved with almost every playground built in Coaldale,” said Van Rijn, “it’s important for us to add these features to Coaldale. People can go out and enjoy all the features, they can bring their families [and] we take pride in the fact that there’s no cost involved for families.”
