Canada's First Challenge Course Opens in Lethbridge, Alberta

Share

After a decade of planning, designing and funding, the 73-acre Legacy Park in Lethbridge, Alberta is open and features Canada’s first Challenge Course by GameTime. The course was designed and installed by Park N Play Design Co, the exclusive GameTime representative in Alberta, Canada, and features 11 obstacles on a 5,000-square foot course. It also includes a professional-grade timing system with scoreboard so users can see how fast they completed the course. Park N Play added a 40-Yard Dash so children and families could compete with one another in a timed race.

The Challenge Course is one of many features at Legacy Park designed to encourage children, young adults and entire families to be more active together. David Ellis, Parks Manager for the City of Lethbridge says, “I think the course is important because it fits with the other park features. I find that our parks don’t have much to offer youth. The challenge course is one way we can engage the young demographic and keep them active in our parks.”

Projects like Legacy Park are essential to bringing together people from all walks of life throughout a community. Alberta Premier Rachel Notley was on hand for the grand opening of the Challenge Course at Legacy Park. During her remarks she said, “Strong communities are communities that are built for people and families. This park not only makes this community stronger, it makes life better for everyone.”
